Ariko, a struggling working-class vendor in Mbare Musika market falls in love with Chipo, a rich middle-class girl studying at the university. Burdened with Ariko's traumatic past and Chipo's family's disapproval, they are helped by Hacha, a portal to communicate with the spirits of dead ancestors.
